"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it"
Proverbs 22:6 Education of our youth and starting them on the way to adulthood with a sound Christian education is perhaps more important in today's world than ever before. There seems so many things are vying for our youth's attention. While at the same time we are living in a world that seems to have lost its common sense. Our children must be trained and prepared to encounter this world with a strong relationship with a living Christ. At St. Leo that is what we want to help you accomplish. To that end we offer religious education classes from September to May. Religious education classes are offered for kindergarten through confirmation. After confirmation we pray that each and every young person that was confirmed continue to deepen their walk with God as their faith matures into adulthood so we offer a vibrant young adult meeting space and time. Please contact our DRE Paula Disante at Paula@stleo.com or for the young adults contact Michele Bui at firstname.lastname@example.org
Interested in learning more about Catholicism?
The journey of learning about the Catholic faith normally begins by attending classes that are referred to as RCIA -Right of Christian Initiation for Adults. These classes normally meet on Sunday at 10:15 Classes begin in September at 10:15am in the conference room behind the kitchenette. During this class you will have the opportunity to encounter Christ, Christianity and the church. You then move to learning about the rich catechesis of the Catholic faith and learn to develop your inner life and relationship with Christ and his church. From there you will move into a time of preparation a deeper call to conversion that culminates in the receiving of Sacraments at the Easter Vigil mass. During the Easter Season (that begins with the Easter Vigil) you will delve deeper into the sacraments that you were brought into on Easter.
We invite you to take the entire journey or as much as you choose, everyone is welcome!
For a in-depth look at the RCIA Process please visit USCCB or just call our good Deacon, Brian Crim at (304)229-8945 he will be happy to provide all the information you need.
Library We have an extensive religious library and you are welcome to sign out titles at no charge and for as long as you need them, just remember to bring them back for others to share when you are finished with them . We also have a wide selection of children's books to loan.
